The Romance of Leonardo da Vinci

The novel “The Romance of Leonardo da Vinci” is the second part of Dmitry Merezhkovsky’s trilogy “Christ and Antichrist.” The work is dedicated to the life and creations of the great Italian Renaissance artist, scientist, and inventor. The author masterfully recreates the atmosphere of fifteenth- and sixteenth-century Italy, examining through the lens of da Vinci’s destiny the conflict between Christian values and the revival of pagan culture.
